When you are planning playground games you want to have an assortment on hand. Children love to play with playground equipment but they also like to use their own creativity and imaginations. When planning playground games you are going to have to consider indoor and outdoor atmospheres.
Outdoor playground games
For outdoors it is much easier to plan your playground games because you have much more space to work with. Often you will find that children will certainly develop their own entertainment and there own games, however there are periods of boredom where parents have to step in and give some suggestions. The age group and gender will dictate what type of games is going to be most appropriate. You might want to rely on some of the old stand by's that have been around for years, and seem to get handed down from generation to generation. One of the most loved playground games is hide and seek. This is on different levels according to the ages, and for toddlers it's a very simple matter of just hiding a few feet away from them whereas when you get in with the older crowd the area extends significantly.
If you happen to have an area where there is some concrete such as the sidewalk for example, then supplying the kids with a bucket of sidewalk chalk will be most beneficial for entertaining them for a good period of time. This is something that can both be used for both the boys and the girls. However, most often the boys enjoy drawing some pretty complex colorful pictures whereas the girls like to play a good game of hop scotch. If your children are not familiar with some of the classic games then you are going to have to teach them and recall on your memory of what you did as a child.
A favorite game more favored by the boys perhaps is a good game of marbles. Of course you are going to want to watch that there are no little ones around for this particular game. Tag is a favorite as well and you can add a lot of variations to the game of tag.
To add some extra fun you may want to create some competitions or some playground Olympics for example.
Indoor playground games
When you're looking at the indoor playground games then hopefully you have been able to purchase some equipment such as the indoor playground gyms that have the hiding area, the slide and some other climbing activities. Aside from this though you also want a creative area where crafts can be done or coloring for example.
One really great makeshift idea is building an indoor tent then allowing the children to have a simple lunch here. They seem to really enjoy this, and by the time they get finished building it, enjoying their achievements, and then tearing it all down, several hours have gone by.
